Legend of
the Rose

Elijah’s teeth gritted as he looked momentarily angry. Then he seemed to see something beyond her and then his face cleared into nothing as he spoke quietly. “Alright, how about this? If I win at a game of cards, you give me the necklace.”

Hannah paused before asking carefully. “And if I win?”

“Oh, if you win? I must warn you, I haven’t lost in three years of playing and I’ve gone against the best, my dear.” Elijah smirked, feeling quite confident in his card game skills. “Well, what do you want?”

“If I win, I get your ship and all that comes with it, including you as a first mate.”

It took a half hour to find where the scent was coming from. Another wolf, a rather large, magnificent wolf, sipping at a tiny stream. It was near-black with brown spots on its ears and along its back, the tail thick and luscious.

‘In my territory?’ Esarosa was behind a tree, feeling threatened. She took a deep breath and did the most foolish thing. She stalked out and took a stance on the other side of the piddly stream. She raised her head and faced the male wolf fully, eyes forward as she glared balefully.

He stopped drinking and slowly lifted his head, tongue drolly sliding out as his nose dipped up and brown eyes peered out, almost with a comical gaze.

‘He’s making fun of me!’ Came the thought, as Esarosa growled at him. She stared harder. She wanted him off her territory. Away from her animals, where none got hurt. She didn’t allow hunters, be it human or at that moment, some cocky wolf.

GRIMMWOLF, (BOOK 1) PART OF CHAPTER ONE

“Did you ever see two images superimpose on each other, fighting to be seen first?” She asked Neve. “I see Jacob, my boyfriend and then I see… Well, do you have black hair and what the Hell is with your pupils?” She hadn’t realized she gotten close, inches away from Neve’s face.

Her hand came up as Neve caught it and Never nearly crushed her fingers to the bone.

“Ah, that hurts,” The woman said carefully, with a weak smile. Neve was a little surprised that a wolf seemed so unguarded around her.

“Do not touch the Fae. Have you not been taught that?”

“Wow, you’re a fairy?” The woman asked excitedly, her eyes lighting up.

“Ah,” Now Neve was embarrassed suddenly, letting go.

“Esa, that’s my guest I told you about this morning,” The tall African man appeared, dressed in his usual khakis, white shirt, and tunic top.

“You didn’t tell me she was going to be a… oh, what do you prefer to be called?” The woman asked with a smile.

“Fae, please,” Neve said weakly before blurting out. “No, I mean, my name is Neve.”

METAMOPHOSE, (BOOK 2) PART OF CHAPTER ONE

Esarosa pushed up from her seat and stumbled a little on her feet. Her hand pressed on her stomach, feeling that same strangeness of energy prickling. It felt more irksome than painful but it left a lingering effect on her limbs.

It took a moment to hear Elric’s voice coming down from a tunnel as she looked up and saw the sight of his face come rushing at her as she pulled back in shock and hit the chair, crashing back as she fell into a broken heap.

“Shit!” Her exclamation echoed in the room as her coat was flipped over her head, her buttocks upward in the air with her legs twisted into the chair.

“Stop, stop,” Elric muttered. “When did this start?” He demanded.

“I’m fine,” She pulled back. “I’m fine, okay?”

            “Esa!”

“It’s nothing!” She turned away and attempted to walk off only to find the door closing in her face. “You son of a…”

Hands planted at both sides of her head as magic swelled around her head as her hands grasped her head.

“Okay, okay, I’m sorry,” Elric was mumbling. “Something’s off with you and you don’t know what it is, do you? You cannot keep this bottled in, Esarosa. It will only make it worse.”
